TV- Big Love
The new episode hasn't even started yet, but I have to say this. The new opening is UNACCEPTABLE! The old opening was one of the best ever and I was waiting in anticipation for the Beach Boys to start singing, and then this weird emo crap starts playing. Unacceptable.

Remember when Weeds stopped using "Little Houses" as their theme song?!? That was an even sadder.
ReplyDeleteYes, that was sad, but it did make sense at least. They were no longer living in the burbs in cookie-cutter houses, so the song didn't really apply anymore.
ReplyDeleteI really can't figure out why they did it on Big Love. I mean, Bill and Nicky (Nikki?) are having problems, but I don't think that's enough to make the old theme song not apply. At least with Weeds I understood the reason.
I wonder if they are planning on this being the last Big Love season? That's the only way it would make sense.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that Bill and the wives feel like they are "falling" apart, but is this the end? Are they really falling apart to such a more severe degree than in the past that they need a new theme?
Even though it was a weird into, I'll admit that the questions it arose in me made me even more excited for this season. So I bet the producers would be happy to hear that.
I don't think this is supposed to be the last season. EW mentioned that it's Amanda Seyfield's last season on the show and I don't think they would have put it that way if it was supposed to be the last season for the whole show.
